You know, Kit, I really should have pointed that out explicitly.

So often the virtues of poly parenting talk about the freedom FROM kids 24/7 instead of the joy of INTERACTING with them.

The children are exposed to more, and the parents can enjoy their parenting time more when there's trusted parents , not just helpful sitters for YOUR time away.
And of course, the more parents, the more parenting time the kids get.

I grew up in the middle of a traditional southern clan. The thing that was the most wonderful about it was being exposed to many models of adulthood. It helped me craft my own identity a lot more quickly because I was starting with a tool box that seemed fuller then my peers.

I have not had kids and might not, but if I do I would want them to see a lot of people living adult lives in different ways :)

Congratulations on giving your kids such a rich experience.
