I guess my main questions would be

1. What are common misconceptions you have found with polyamory?

2. What do you gain from this lifestyle?

3. Whats the main differences between swinging and polyamory?

4. Are there any other resources that you would recommend?

5. What do you want people to know most about polyamory?

Thank you so much!

You forgot Austin- there's a rather large poly crowd here.

The amusing part is I can find someone in Austin who's dated one of the people I knew in RTP, someone who's connected to friends in Seattle and Portland.... the poly community really IS one big community in some ways. It's odd.

Hey I am a current college student and I am writing a research paper on polyamorous relationships and how they can be misrepresented/misinterpreted. It would be a great help if you could perhaps email me and give me any further information on your opinion of the issue because I wanted to use a personal interview to help strengthen my argument on the essay. I hope you can give me more information.
Thank you

I've found a few other local "crossover" communities where people have been more open to the idea of open relationships. Some of the poly-friendly groups I regularly attend locally are Burning Man and Earth Day events, kink/BDSM events and Bi-friendly/pride groups. I'm lucky enough to live on the west coast, where co-housing, permaculture and sustainable living communities are also popular and my friends there have been accepting of poly.

Online, tribe.net has a good selection of "alternative" communities to choose from, too. :)
